Cannon* CT-1000 Constant-Temperature Viscosity Bath

Specifically for precise viscosity determinations with glass capillary viscometers. Also suitable for temperature control of other instruments that must be viewed while immersed in a constant-temperature bath. Maintains accurate temperature control of ±0.01°C within the range 20° to 100°C and ±0.03°C above 100°C—ideal for ASTM D 445 kinematic viscosity specifications. Top cover contains seven 2 in. diameter (51mm) holes for insertion of viscometer holders. Two additional holes are provided for thermometers. Two electric heating elements inside bath rapidly heat medium to any desired temperature within range. Cooling coil permits operation below or slightly above ambient temperature when connected to tap water or a cooling system. Selector switch on front panel facilitates rapid setting of ten popular temperatures (20°, 25°, 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 80°, 100°, 135°, and 150°C) for kinematic viscosity determinations. After temperature has been selected, bath equilibrates to within 0.2° of desired temperature. Fine-tune control then allows temperature adjustment to within ±0.01°C of temperature. By switching to "variable" setting, any temperature within operating range can be obtained. Solid-state control circuit provides proportional control of temperature with stainless-steel–encased thermistor sensing element. Motor-driven stirrer ensures uniform temperature throughout bath. Plus, entire electrical control system is readily accessible if adjustments or repairs are necessary —simply pull out convenient drawer. Clear, cylindrical glass bath chamber measures 11 13/16 in. diameter x 11 13/16 in. high (30 x 30cm) and is illuminated by two fluorescent lamps. Stainless-steel baffle in center of bath provides a plain reflective background for viewing instruments. The CT-1000 Bath has several built-in safety features including a second thermistor in the bath that senses any overtemperature condition and quickly shuts down power to the bath until overtemperature limit circuit is reset. Another feature cuts power to bath heaters if the control thermistor is disconnected. A liquid-level control prevents bath heaters from operating when liquids are below minimum safe operating level.

KV1000 Kinematic Viscosity Baths
Constant temperature bath for kinematic viscosity testing of petroleum products. Accommodates six round 2" (51mm) dia. viscometer holders. Bath temperature stabilizes within ±0.5°C (±1°F) of setting, and final adjustment to within ±0.01°C (±0.02°F) can be made. Test temperatures of up to 150°C (302°F) can be selected. Temperature limit control permits the operator to select an overtemperature cutoff point to protect against accidental overheating. Control unit includes immersion heater, circulating stirrer and temperature probe. Composition top plate rests on a 12x12" (30.5x30.5cm) or 12x18" (30.5x46cm) Pyrex™ jar. Order capillary viscometers, viscometer holders and thermometer separately.

The CANNON CT-2000 Constant Temperature Bath maintains the accurate control required by ASTM D 445 for kinematic viscosity measurements. Within the range of 20 to 100°C temperature is controlled to 0.01°C; above 100°C temperature is controlled to 0.03°C.
Setting Temperature
A keypad permits microprocessor-controlled temperature selection to two decimal places at any setting within the operational range of the instrument. The built-in platinum resistance thermometer continuously monitors bath temperature and displays it digitally on a four line by twenty character back-lit liquid-crystal screen.
