The tip surface interaction is complex. But bascially, tip amplitude and phase will be affected by this interaction. The free tapping will (1) reduce amplitude (2) frequency lower or phase lag. So to use frequency lower than reasonant frequency will make scanning frequency reach maximum sensitivity. If you put operation frequency higher than free oscillation frequency, then operation frequency will be much far away from reasonant frequency. Then the sensitivity is worser. www.tbcl.com.tw.
