Determination of Aluminum Phosphide in Fumigants CHUAN KAO Journal of Food Science; Volume 46 Issue 5, Pages 1632 - 1632
ABSTRACT: A simple method has been developed to measure aluminum phosphide (AlP) in fumigants. Phosphide-containing fumigants were reacted with water to release phosphine gas (PH3), and the gas was oxidized to phosphate by permanganate. The phosphate formed was then determined by the gravimetric quinolinium molybdophosphate method (AOAC, 1975).
