view翻译成界面应该是对的
1.此界面只能容纳500条信息
2.此界面只在“服务”模式下出现

没有翻译，或者接触过设备，因此不知道到底是怎么样的。有时候要通观这个说明书，才能理解。
对设备的理解也能帮助翻译

profile: （1）this parameter is stretching factor for the calculated profile. （2）if you make this factor bigger the visible profile is stretched in a stronger way.
是翻译成“分布”吗？不懂啊？

fit  :  (1) if this is active the fitted reference line for the chamfer edges are shown.
        （2）for the horizontal and vertical edge you can select between a linear or a parabola fit.
      (3) this fit is used as the reference edge.
我知道fit是适合的意思，可是翻译成适合，好像怎么都觉得别扭。
很迷惑，不知道怎么翻译？

觉得这里的profile可能取“侧面”的意思，可能是“层面”
fit可能是带有固定的意思，是不是设备上有那样的固定线，也就是标线？

view => 检视功能?

prolile => 曲线?

Curve fitting is 曲线拟合
fitted reference line =>  (经)拟合的参考(曲)线?  (经)拟合的基线?

我明白了，有些单词是不会只看它的表面意思来翻译，还是要结合文章翻译成寓意！像汉语一样！

不知道你那里还有什么有助于翻译的资料

1. 这里profile可以简单的翻译成数据图(或表),难道你们从不看经济学人的吗?
2.curve fitting曲线拟合 其他变化也不离这个意思
fitted 拟合好的
fitted curve 拟合(好的)曲线
fit做名词时就是 result of curve fitting, 当然也就是一拟合曲线;
如抛物线拟合曲线parabolic fit ;你的原文似乎错了.

我是这样理解的。
view:(1)句是出现在protocol条款中的。the view 可以用protocol view 代替理解，指的就是，协议版面最多只能容纳500条信息（错误）
    原文：(protocol): view of a message log.all information messages and errors will be displayed here;acknowledge errors too. the view is limited to 500 messages/errors.
（2）句是出现在service条款中的。应该就是说：这个界面只出现在service版面中。我觉得service可以不翻译，呵呵。。。
原文：（service）:shows the editable parameter.this view is shown only in servive mode.
（3）是出现在system parameter view条款中的。应该就是说：点击原始选择的按钮（粗体），返回正常service模板界面。
原文：(system parameter view):by selecting an element e.g.a box or a saw mark unit the appropriate node in the parameter tree view opens. the corresponding node is branded in bold font.although the other elements are branded in italic font all element can be selected and you can browse through the whoule tree.click on the originally selected element (bond font)to return to normal service mode view.
profile:这两句是连在一块的。是出现在view factor条款中的。应该就是说：这个参数相对于计算曲线是一个可变化因子。增大这个参数值会看到曲线变化很大。
原文：(view factor): this parameter is stretching factor for the calculated profile.if you make this factor bigger the visible profile is stretched in a stronger way.it has an effect after pressing the calculation button or afer measuring the next wafer. you can change this parameter.
fit  : 我觉得大家都知道是拟合曲线。我结合了原文，确实也是拟合曲线的意思。
不知道是不是正确，请大家帮我看看。

view: （1）the view is limited to 500 messages.是否翻译为每个页面或视面或视窗      （2）this view is shown only in service mode是否为诊断模式或维修模式？

所以要看他这个设备的具体情况，才能准确的表达。
不过估计楼主也大概能自己理解翻译了
