  In order to promote the Solid State NMR research in China, State Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance and Atomic and Molecular Physics at WIPM will collaborate with University des Sciences et Technologies de Lille, France, to hold "the Sino-French Workshop on Solid State NMR Spectroscopy 2006" at Wuhan. A number of well-known experts in the field will be invited to give lectures on the basic principles of Solid State NMR, advanced experimental methods and applications. It is open for teachers, researchers and postgraduate students of universities or institutes with some relevant background. The Workshop also functions to facilitate communication and co-operation among SSNMR researchers and improve the research capability in SSNMR in China.

The workshop will be organized jointly by Prof. Jean-Paul Amoureux (Universit?des Sciences et Technologies de Lille, France) and Prof. Chaohui Ye (Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics (WIPM) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)) and will take place at WIPM on October 17-21, 2006.?

The workshop will offer 21 seminars of 45 min each, within 3 days (October 17-19). The seminars will cover new strategies for high-resolution NMR, new methods for hetero-nuclear decoupling and recoupling, CSA recoupling, 2D methods for homo-nuclear (or hetero-nuclear ) dipolar recoupling, latest advances in MQMAS and STMAS, as well as applications of solid state NMR in membrane proteins, polymers, glasses, catalytic materials, catalytic reactions, etc. In addition to the seminars, experimental demonstrations of various advanced solid state NMR methods will be given in the following 2 days (October 20-21). To ensure the quality of the workshop, the number of participants is limited to about 100.?The researchers and students currently working in the field will be given preference.

Participants who plan to attend the "Sino-French Workshop on Solid State NMR Spectroscopy 2006"” are kindly suggested to respond either by regular mail or via email before Sept 20, 2006. Registration fees will be 800 RMB for regular participants and 500 RMB for graduate students.
