    2009年7月20日 – Asylum Research 和 R&D 杂志共同声明：Asylum的 Cypher原子力显微镜(AFM)赢得了2009年度R&D100发明大奖。

    Cypher 第一款跨时代意义的具有业内最高分辨率的新型原子力显微镜AFM/SPM。  Cypher AFM 首先在业内实现了三轴闭环条件下实现原子级分辨率，使得在最高精度基础上实现闭环控制、测量在今天成为可能。除此以外，它还具有优秀的成像能力和测量功能。Cypher在技术上的突破，使得它拥有业内唯一的全自动SpotOn™ 全自动激光耦合系统，可以为您提供最简单的操作，仅仅只需要鼠标一点就可以将激光光斑自动对焦到探针和光学位置探测器的中心。其他特有功能包括可选择的光源部件，它能允许激光光斑尺度小至3um，提供了多用途扫描模式，其中包括扫描速度提高10倍的高速轻敲成像模式（high-speed AC）。该系统通过将隔声、防震以及温控系统整合到一个机架结构内，为成像和测量提供了一个完美的“无热漂移”控制环境。

    R&D100发明大奖会为每个获奖者提供一个获奖标志，用以证明此产品是本年度最具革新意义的产品。获奖者是由一个独立的技术专家团和R&D杂志编辑组成。R&D100 奖章会在2009年11月12日在奥兰多年度颁奖大会上向Asylum Research团队颁发。 Cypher获得了2009年度R&D100杂志 实验仪器类最佳奖。
