pipe fittings：管件。male pipe fittings是一头突出的管件，female pipe fittings是一头凹陷的管件，分别像男女的生殖器官，所以用male和female表示。形状如下图所示：

两个1/4内牙(内丝)x1/4" 异径接头:
Cat#2P-199, W. W. Grainger, Chicago, IL.(一家公司及产品型号)
1/4" 为公称通径(直径),单位为inch,相当于8mm.

外国语言就是形象,竟搞个male和female来配合
