A gas chromatograph with a capillary column coupled to a mass spectrometric detector (electron ionisation,EI) is used for the analysis. the mass spectrometric detector shall be able to perform selective ion monitoring and have an upper mass range of at least 1000 m/z. the high-range mass is required to unambiguously identify DecaBDE and NonaBDE. the use of an autosampler is strongly recommended to ensure repeatability .a column length of approximately 15 m has sufficient separation efficency for PBB and PBDE compounds.

为明晰确定DecaBDE和NonaBDE，需要high-range mass（高分辨质谱？？？）

a column length of approximately 15 m has sufficient separation efficency for PBB and PBDE compounds.
对于PBB和PBDE化合物来讲，大约15米的柱长足够达到分离效率（效果，踏板数？？？）

There is no doubt that one of the translations of couple is 偶合.
 
But in structural engineering, the connection of two reinforcing bars can be by means of a coupler. Would it be possible that “coupled to” means connected to?  (I have no knowledge about the gas chromatograph and mass spectrometric detector)

感觉上耦合两个字可以去掉，原文想说明的应该是带有质谱检测器的毛细管柱气相色谱仪。

high-rang，应该是该质谱仪量测范围要宽，通常质谱仪的rang【上限】在800～950之间，但这个没有办法满足deca-BDE以及Nona-BDE定性分析的要求
