将金水和谢老师的综合了一下:
Abstract: To introduce the application status of WDXRF in geology research field of China between 2007 and 2010. Including the progress of instrument development; the determination of trace elements in geochemistry sample (pressed power pellet), the determination of major or minor elements in various type geology sample and iron ore sample (fuse piece technique); and the determination of various metal compositions in mineral ore (thin sample technique)
希望poorlittle老师给指正一二,呵呵

I am not at the position to criticize the abstract posted although I think that there may be room for improvement#, but I have a suggestion from literal point of view that the word “来” can be omitted as we usually write “2007年以来” or “2007-2010年间”.
(# “仪器研制进展”属于“应用”吗? “矿石"属于“矿物”的一种吗? Also see “Essential elements of the abstract” in http://www.olemiss.edu/depts/writing_center/grabstract.html )
For the translation to English, I suggest:
Abstract:
This paper* introduces the application of Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (WDXRF) Spectrometer in China in the field of geology during the period from 2007 to 2010. The scope of application includes the progress in the research and manufacture of equipment; the determination of 微量元素 in the 地球化学样品 (粉末压片); the determination of主、次量元素 in 多种类型地质样品(熔片技术); the determination of主、次元素 in各种类型铁矿石样品(熔片技术); the determination of多种金属成分 of 矿物矿石(薄样技术)。
(* Some tips from the internet do not recommend commencing the abstract with "this paper…”, "this report…" or similar, however, I do not have better idea.)

The translation of technical terms can be searched from http://dict.cnki.net/ or from internet:
1. Use the Chinese technical term plus one possible English word as key words;
2. The full English technical terms may be obtained (Several different English technical terms may appear);
3. Use the most possible English technical term only (no Chinese term) as key words to search again. You will get many English websites this time;
4. Read the information in those websites to see whether the English technical term is equivalent to the Chinese technical term to be translated;
5. Choose the most appropriate one.
There are several translations for “主” “次”dependent on the meaning (qualitative or quantitative) in the paper :
主 : main, basic, major, primary, key, essential, majority
次 : minor, secondary, minority

"We measured ion concentration in the blood"
Or
"Ion concentration in the blood was measured"?
