There is only one result for “pooled coefficient variation” from Google (searching with the words within quotation mark).  It is obvious that “pooled coefficient variation” is not a common term, it is likely a combination of“pooled” and“coefficient variation”.  The definition of “coefficient variation”can be easily found from internet, and then the problem left is “pooled”.

It is also not difficult to find the information about“pooled”.  For example, the information“When several small sets have the same sources of indeterminate error (i.e.: the same type of measurement but different samples),  the standard deviations of the individual data sets may be pooled” can be found from http://science.widener.edu/svb/stats/descript.html

I think that “pooled” means “grouped together for analysis”(合并), the criteria of grouping would depend on certain statistical considerations.

Using ‘pooled, statistics’as keywords for searching may get a lot of information about “pooled”.

Your example above is about the operation of a test, not the analysis of the result of a test.

Every measurement (i.e. test result) has error, generally including random error and system error. “pooled” is to group the different sets of data for analysis.  Once the sample size increases by grouping, the random error would generally reduce (provided the tests are performed under the repeatability condition).

But how could you know this is about the operation of a test, not the analysis of the result of a test?
