It would be highly appreciated if anyone could explain it.

前者是光谱仪,后者是分光光度计,对于原子吸收来说应该没区别吧。

spec•trom•e•ter (sp k-tr m  -t r)
n.
A spectroscope equipped with scales for measuring wavelengths or indexes of refraction
spec•tro•pho•tom•e•ter  (sp k tr -f -t m  -t r)
n. An instrument used to determine the intensity of various wavelengths in a spectrum of light

spectrometer—A generic term for a device that measures the intensity of radiation as a function of frequency (or wavelength) of the radiation or that breaks down any signal into its frequency components.

spectrophotometer—A photometer that measures the intensity of radiation as a function of frequency (or wavelength) of the radiation.
In one design, radiation enters the spectrophotometer through a slit and is dispersed by means of a prism. A bolometer having a fixed aperture scans the dispersed radiation so that the intensity over a narrow wave band is obtained as a function of frequency.

A spectrophotometer consists of two instruments, namely a spectrometer for producing light of any selected color (wavelength), and a photometer for measuring the intensity of light.
