你上面提到的那种用法是可以的。实际上应该是thirteen pounds of coffee at 33 cents a pound.这里的a pound省略掉了。这里的at也可以换成for。
我不是这个意思，我的意思是说，去买东西的人怎么会把价格报给卖东西的人，价格应该是卖的人报的

Arithmetic Lesson
算术题
A little boy bustled into a grocery one day with a memorandum in his hand.
一天一个小男孩手里拿着个本子匆忙进了一个杂货店。
″Hello,Mr. Smith,″He said,″I want thirteen pounds of coffee at 33 cents.″
他说：“史密斯先生你好，我想要13磅咖啡,33分一磅的。”
″Very good,″said the grocer, and he noted down the sale.
“好的”，店主说着并记在了帐单上。
″Anything else, Charlie？″
“还要什么吗，查利？”
″Yes. Twenty－seven pounds of sugar at 9 cents.″
“还有,9分一磅的糖7磅。”
″The loaf？And whatelse？″
“方糖？还要其他的吗？”
″Seven and a half pounds of bacon at 30 cents.″
“30分一磅的熏肉7.5磅。”
″That will be a good brand. Go on.″
“很不错的牌子哦。还有吗。”
″Five pounds of tea at 90 cents；eleven and a half quarts of molasses at8cents a pint；two eight－pound hams at 31 cents, and five dozen jars of pickled walnuts at34cents ajar.″
“90分一磅的茶叶5磅；8分一品脱的糖浆11.5夸脱；31分8磅的火腿2个，还有34分一罐的腌制胡桃60罐。”
The grocer made out the bill.

″It＇s a big order,″he said.″Did your mother tell you to pay for it？″
他说：“要很多钱哦，你妈妈告诉你付钱了没？”
　　″My mother,″ said the boy, as he pocketed the neat and accurate bill,″has nothing to do with this business. It is my arithmetic lesson and I had to get it done somehow.″

小孩有一份家庭作业是一道计算题，小伙不愿做就想了个办法，把作业上题按照数值到商店去买东西，最后店员计算出的总数就是他要得答案，聪明

笑话不好笑。试想，买东西的一方指定价格，这是什么样的规则？呵呵。
