How do I vent the MSD when my Personal Computer is not available?

Answer:
If your MSD has a Gauge controller, turn it off. From the gc Keyboard turn OFF the gc Zone controlling the gc/MSD interface heater, for example AUX Temp. Also, turn the Inlet Temperature OFF and set the Oven Temperature to 30 degrees. Then disconnect the HIVAC Power Cable from the rear of the MSD. This turns off the MSD heater and Diffusion Pump heater or Turbo Pump, but the cooling fans and fore line pumps stay on. After 45 Minutes turn OFF the MSD Power Switch. Please refer to the 5973A Hardware Manual for further reference.

•Why does the library search results report the same compound more than once?

解答
The NIST, WILEY, and other libraries were not produced by Agilent. They contain spectra produced using magnetic field type equipment and by MS from various different manufacturers. As the library may contain a number of different measurements for the same compound, the compound may be displayed more than once in the results.
In the extended data analysis screen, open the [Spectra] menu and click [Edit Search Strategy] to open the [Search Strategy] dialog box. Selecting the [Delete duplications and CAS number] checkbox will prevent the same compound from appearing more than once.
